Hercules
Hercules is a 8 year old pit/bulldog mix. He might be handicapped, but don't let his appearance fool you. Hercules is as mighty as his name. He has an amazing spirit and personality. He loves to run around in the yard and sun himself on warm days. He also loves soup bones and stuffed squeaky toys. Hercules is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, crate trained, and house broken. Hercules did have heartworm when he came to us, but has been treated and recovered. He must stay on heartworm preventative such as heart guard for the remainder of his life. Hercules does not like cats and should not be around small children. He is a wonderful little guy who deserves to finally find a family. |
Evie
This stunning beauty is a 3 year old presa canario. Evie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, flea treated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is also housebroken, crate trained, and knows some obedience. Evie would do best as an only dog as she is dog selective and an alpha female. She has not been cat tested, but we could test her if need be. Because of her size, Evie cannot go to a home with children. She is playful and likes to carry things around. Evie is very active and would do best with a family that likes to hike or go on long walks. Adopter MUST be experienced with this breed or a similar breed dog. Evie can initially be scared of strangers, so the first meeting may be a little intimidating for her. It may take 2 or 3 visits to gain her trust. She is worth it though!!! Once Evie bonds with you, you will have a friend for life! Despite her size be prepared to have a lap dog. Evie loves to cuddle and wants to be by your side everywhere you go. She is an amazing dog that anyone would be lucky to have. |
Princess
Princess is a gorgeous 2 year old pit mix. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, flea treated, heartworm and Lymes negative, and microchipped. When Princess came to us she had ear infections and a hematoma in her right ear. Both issues have been treated and are now healed. Princess is very friendly and loves to cuddle and play with toys. Because she is young and active, it is recommended that she not be around small children. She is crate trained and has some obedience training. Princess did live with a dog previously. She does well with other dogs with proper introductions. It is unknown how she is with cats. We are planning on cat testing her soon. Princess is available for fostering or adopting. She will make a wonderful addition to any family. |
Luna
Luna was picked up as a stray by animal control in November 2016 but got lucky and has been living in a foster home for the past 6 months. She is about 3 years old, is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and is potty and crate trained. Luna is very laid back, and some would even say lazy – sleeping is her everything and she is regularly the last thing out of bed every morning! She currently spends most of her days napping because her foster parents are at work but when she is awake she really enjoys chewing Nylabones, snuggling, going for walks, and giving the best kisses ever. Some more fun facts about Luna: She hates walking in wet grass and hugs the house when taken out in it. She often flops on her back and wiggles mid-walk or potty break. She holds her pee forever, like 12 hours is nothing to her so she would be great for an adopter who works long hours. Luna likes to sleep under blankets when it's chilly and she sometimes sleeps with her eyes open. She also gets hot in warm weather so she doesn’t need long walks but would benefit from daily exercise since she is still so young. She is accustomed to sweaters, coats, and rubber booties (Pawz brand) when walked in the winter. When she gets excited she does a little tap dance, lifting her feet off the ground in succession. She enjoys sleeping in closets, especially if it's stocked with pillows. Luna waits for her food until given a command and she also knows “sit”, “paw”, and “stay”. She often keeps her hind end on the bed when eating for no apparent reason other than to show off her upper body strength (which makes her foster parents laugh really hard!). Her long legs lead to tendencies toward incoordination (falls off bed, missteps, misjudges distances). Luna loves belly rubs and she makes chomping sounds when playing or yawning (so dramatic and adorable). Luna is also working with a trainer on her manners. She can be a bit reactive toward new dogs, but is slowly learning to accept her foster parents’ other dogs. Since she is known to be selective with other dogs, she would likely do best as the only dog in a household or require a long introduction to build trust and create a bond with a future housemate. Luna is muzzle trained to assist with those transitions but also to ensure safety for vet trips and walking with her foster parents’ other dogs. Luna has been around children and has done great but she is 68 lbs and excitable so she would likely do best around older kids. Finally, Luna is a cancer survivor!! As a result, she needs to be on Benadryl (50mg twice per day) for the rest of her life to inhibit mast cell tumor growth, which she was found to be prone to. However, the generic brand is OK, and at about $8.00 for a 600 count bottle at Costco that equates to 5 CENTS per day to keep Luna cancer free and believe us, SHE IS SO WORTH IT! She has no complaints about taking her pills with a spoonful of coconut oil or nut butter! Adopt this girl, she will not disappoint! |
