Sammie

Sammie is a tough girl who was not only discarded, but she ended up with severe ascites and stage 4 heartworm disease. The shelter she went to was going to euthanize her, but our rescue took her in and immediately sent her for treatment.  Sammie’s chances for survival were extremely low. She had fluid drained from her  abdomen multiple times during heartworm treatment. Sammie was a fighter though and survived! She does have some existing heart damage due to the heartworm disease. It must be monitored, but she is not currently on any medications.

Sammie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, flea treated, wormed, lymes negative, and microchipped. She loves toys, being nosey, cuddling, and people. She tends to be an alpha and sometimes bullies other dogs. This could cause a fight depending on the other dogs attitude/demeanor (use your judgment and knowledge of your dog). Sammie only gets along with male dogs. She does not get along with female dogs or cats. No small children. Sammie is a spitfire and still has a lot of spunk left in her. Life has not treated her well, but now that she’s getting healthy, she’s ready to find a family and kick life’s butt. Let’s help her do that.
