Meet Brock or Mr Broccoli as we like to call him. This boy came into the rescue sad and defeated, weighing only 40 pounds. He was literally half the weight he should have been. Brock wasn’t even with us for a day before we observed him having seizures. He was checked by our vet immediately, initially no cause could be determined and he was started on phenobarbital. It was later determined that Brock had been seizing do to the high parasite load he had in his system. He has no lasting effects from that and is off all medications. Brock has been with us for awhile now. He’s gained 40 pounds (he weighed in at 80# at his last vet appt), and he now has a very happy and playful personality. Brock is completely vetted and ready for his furever home.
Just some background on Brock so everyone truly understands what he has gone through. The home he originally came was a house of horrors. He was not the dog in that home, however he was the only dog that survived. We can’t get into any other details than that because it is still an active case that being handled by humane officers. Brock’s case is as well, but he has been surrendered to our rescue.
After everything our Broccoli Man has endured, he deserves to find a loving family. He’s a little older at 8 or 9 years old, but he’s still got spunk. He loves going outside for walks and playing in the yard. He’s also down for being a land seal and vegging on the couch. Someone out there has to have room for an awesome dog like this.
