Dax

Dax is smart, he'll go to his kennel, sit, stay with just hand signals. He loves running but we haven't gotten him trained off leash, so he just has the fenced yard to run in. It is difficult for us to give him up. Since he has gotten more aggressive with my 20 month old granddaughter, it seems like the only option. He will growl, bark, and has bitten her because she was pulling on his fur, or hurting him. It does seem to have happened ever since we took him to get his haircut about 5 months ago. We just got him neutered last month, hoping that would help, but he has growled at her twice since. He loves to fetch small latex toys. He loves to chase birds. He gets hot with his long hair, and gets matted if he doesn't get brushed, but does not like his legs, or face brushed. Not fond of haircuts either. He hates water, baths, showers, hoses, sprinklers. He does not like being alone. He won't stay outside long unless someone is with him. He is stubborn and will eat off the counter if he smells chicken, but generally, he is a good, loving boy. He'd do so well with an active alpha dog type. Or even a family with older kids if he had more training. He loves nipping our heads although it is discouraged. And he has a love howl in the morning when he first sees you.
